PRLog (Press Release) – Jul 31, 2009 – Many New Hampshire car dealers are speculating that the Cash for Clunkers program will end sooner than expected.  With record amounts of deals being reported throughout the country, simple math suggests that the funds are nearly dried up.  New Hampshire residents are encouraged to take immediate action in order to use a Cash for Clunkers credit towards their new Ford purchase.
Ford of Londonderry is one New Hampshire dealer who like others, is already reporting higher than expected Cash for Clunkers sales. With only 1 billion in spending, an estimated 250,000 cars can be sold under the program.  Nearly 20,000 dealers are registered for the program, which suggests that each dealer could issue approximately 10 CARS credits before the funds would run dry.  The concern is that dealers in New Hampshire like Ford of Londonderry are reporting that well over 10 deals have already been executed.

Chevrolet Dealers Rev Up Cash for Clunkers Sales As Final Rules Are Published

PRLog (Press Release) – Jul 23, 2009 – Chevrolet Dealers are ready to make deals under the Cash for Clunkers bill which will give qualifying consumers $3,500 or $4,500 in credits to purchase a new car.  Final rules published on Friday morning will signal the green light for Chevrolet Cash for Clunkers sales.
The NHTSA "cash for cars" program is officially called the Car Allowance Rebate System (CARS) but Google search traffic shows that the term "Cash for Clunkers" is the phrase most widely used by Americans. The top consumer blog on the Cash for Clunkers program,  http://www.cashforclunkersfacts.com ,  has seen a spike in traffic today with over 200,000 page views.
Brian Pasch, CEO of the Pasch Consulting Group, who created the popular consumer portal to track the Cash for Clunkers bill back in May, has seen consumer awareness consistently  increase over the past 60 days.  
According to Pasch "As dealers get ready for the start of the program tomorrow, consumer search traffic is up over 200% just today.  We expect that car dealers will be flooded with calls and floor traffic as the most educated consumers have waited for the program to officially start.  It will be a very hectic weekend for Chevrolet dealers with previous Chevrolet sales records most likely to fall."
Chevrolet dealers across the USA will be logging into the NHTSA dealer website pages tomorrow to register for the CARS program.  This is the first day that the system will be open for participating Chevrolet car dealers.  On Monday, July 27th Chevrolet dealers who successfully complete the online registration will be able to submit their first car sales for reimbursement from the NHTSA.
Cash for Clunkers Final Rules
Friday morning will also be a busy time for Chevrolet dealers as they will be reviewing the final NHTSA guidelines and rules for the Car Allowance Rebate System (CARS).  The rules are planned to be released at 7:00 am on Friday and Cash For Clunkers Facts will be commenting on what is contained in those rules on Twitter.

PRLog (Press Release) – Jul 11, 2009 – Good foot health is especially important for senior citizens.  The longer your feet stay healthy, the longer you can maintain an active lifestyle.  Simply follow these 5 guidelines put forth by the International Council on Active Aging (ICAA) and the Institute for Preventative Foot Health (IPFH):
Principle One: Proper Foot Hygiene.  Simple daily routines can go a long way when it comes to promoting foot health among senior citizens.  Feet should be washed daily, taking special care to wash between the toes.  Just as important as daily washing is making sure that the feet are dried thoroughly.  Damp feet in shoes can lead to infections such as fungal toenails and Athlete’s foot.  Footwear should also be kept clean and dry.  Rotate footwear regularly, and purchase shoes with removable insoles – a feature that makes it easier to thoroughly dry shoes overnight.  
Principle Two: Regular Foot Inspections.  If left untreated, small cuts and sore spots on the feet can lead to more serious infections.  Foot ulcers (open wounds on the feet) are common among senior citizens who fail to notice minor foot injuries early on.  Reduced nervous sensation and circulation in the feet mean that the feet will need to be inspected visually.  A family member or friend may need to help out if there are problems with eyesight or flexibility.  
Principle Three: Proper Nail Care.  Failure to trim nails properly can lead to ingrown toenails and various infections.  Toenails should be cut straight across to prevent the corners of the nail from growing into the skin.  File away any sharp edges.  If a toenail does become ingrown or infected, see a doctor who can care for it properly.  This is especially true from senior citizens with diabetes or anyone who is particularly vulnerable to infections on their feet.  Discolored or abnormally thick toenails may be a sign of a fungal infection.  If the discoloration or tenderness persists, speak to your doctor.
Principle Four: Foot Care for Diabetics.  Senior citizens with diabetes must be particularly vigilant when it comes to the care of their feet.  Daily foot inspections are crucial, and your doctor should also inspect your feet on a regular basis.  Invest in a pair of orthopedic shoes.  Avoid going barefoot or soaking your feet in hot water.  
Principle Five: Proper Footwear.  Supportive footwear is especially important when it comes to preserving good foot health.  Look for shoes that protect and support your feet.  Orthopedic walking shoes often provide a good combination of comfort and support.  Avoid shoes with narrow toes or little arch support.  Make sure your shoes fit you properly and can accommodate the socks you usually wear.
